Bungleau, reread my first post. There is no such option on her com. It was one of the first things I tried to do.
LennonCook, Explorer goes kaput in normal mode, so there is no Start menu, and the windows key on the keyboard does nothing. The option goes MIA in safe mode. I just woke up. Will be going over to my aunt's place in a couple of minutes. Praying that the bootdisk will work. |

Fear the BlackDragon of power...
I feel your aunt's pain, I use Windows ME as well, and it has its flaws, such evil flaws at that... I can't afford to buy a new OS, cause they're expensive, I thought about it trust me, I wanted to get Windows 2000, but its like $320 for it... stupid microsoft being a monopoly... I hate them, I wish there was a cheaper way to switch to 2000.. without getting charged out the @$$ with fines for stealing a free one from KaZaA or something...

Urgh, problem solved. Using my aunt's com made me treasure my com that much more. I wish I was back home now using it... oh well, at least my sister's laptop has a wireless cable connection.
Currently running a Disk Cleanup and Defragmenter on my aunt's com. Will do a Windows Update when its' done. |

I saw that in your first post, Dundee. Not having an ME machine around here any more, I didn't recall if it truly wasn't there, or if it was called something other than MS-DOS mode (like command prompt). My apologies for reading too much between the lines.
Glad you've got it cleaned up. I take it that using the boot disk got you through? Or was it an OS reinstall? Inquiring minds want to know...
