More about role ascensions

1. Five roles can gain important role-specific traits:
a) Paladin - Crusade. It's a huge boost of XP. There are many undeads ahead!
b) Ranger - Fletchery. It's a legitimate source of money even in the patched game.
c) Barbarian - Stunning Blow: All weapons will behave as if they had the "sleep" bonus attack.
d) Bard - Trickery: Improves your stealing and picklocking abilities considerably.
e) Zenmaster - Chi Master and Enlightement. The most powerful traits in the game. Well, they are available very late in the game so that they need not be considered now.
I consider it a good idea if every party member becomes a Paladin and Barbarian when he can gain the role-specific traits - at least for a moment so that he can pick the traits, even if he does not plan to play these roles.
Let us note that you can manage it:
a) Paladin. When your guys become guild level 5 in the temple, take the Paladin quest for all of them. It will cost you one journey to the Altar of Serran. Pick the trait and continue changing roles.
b) Barbarian. Once your guys become level 5 in the Warrior Guild, let them one by one to take the Barbarian quest and send them fishing solo. That's the fastest way of finishing the Barbarian quest.
c) Bard. A new Scroll of Trickery is spawned every time somebody takes the Bard quest. You can prepare the role ascension by letting your guys take the Bard quest one by one, get the Scroll of Trickery, leave the scroll in the inn, and cancel the Bard quest. Now, you have the needed scrolls for each of your future bards. Later on, when they become guild level 5(?) in the Pawn Shop, take the Bard quest again, take the scroll, become a Bard immediately and take the Trickery trait. Now you can change the role again.
d) Let us also note that you can do a similar trick with the Ranger quest. Every time some of your guys takes the Ranger quest, a new raptor is spawned. Therefore, you can get the quest, kill the raptor, take the eggs, leave the eggs in the inn, and cancel the Ranger quest. You can do it repeatedly and collect needed number of eggs. Later on, you can take the quest again and finish it immediately by means of your eggs.

What does it mean for role ascension?

1. Somebody from your party should get the Fletchery trait. It will allow you to get money a more legitimate way. One guy with the Fletchery trait is enough. Therefore:
a) Either let the future fletcher become a Ranger early but keep in mind that he will play the Ranger for a long time, or
b) Prepare the quest by gaining the eggs and use the eggs later when the future fletcher will be guild level 5 in the Warrior Guild.

2. Your expert in locks and thefts should get the Trickery trait. Prepare the scroll for him and use the scroll later. Otherwise, the expert should play a Bard all the time until he becomes guild level 5(?) in the Pawn Shop.

3. Be careful with taking the Paladin and Barbarian roles. All your guys should be members of the Warrior Guild and the Temple and all of them should gain guild levels in them. Once they become guild level 5, they should be Paladins and Barbarians at least for a moment. Therefore:
a) Only those guys, which will play a Barbarian or a Paladin roles for a long time should get these roles early.
b) The rest should avoid these roles and become Paladins and Barbarians later for a moment.

Although the weekly magazines and the tabloid press are almost just as eager to report scandals within the Danish Royal House as the British press, they have not yet managed to produce a scandal.

From what I have heard, the scandals in the British Royal House were all connected to the recent divorces of prominent members of the Royal House. In Denmark the last king or heir to the throne who got a divorce was King Frederik the Seventh who was reigned from 1848 to 1863. Since then the press has not had much to go on.

Also, Crown Prince Frederik's younger brother, His Royal Highness Prince Joachim enjoys a seemingly very happy marriage with another lovely woman from the old British Commonwealth - namely Princess Alexandra from Hong Kong.

So the press have no scandals to report. Very fortunate, I think. We Danes pride ourselves on having the oldest still existing monarchy in the world, and I would be sad to see it fall apart.
