I found this pic on the web recently and wondered as to It's purpose. There you can see Raistlin, Elminster, whatsherface from PLanescape, a vampire and some future-setting soldier bloke. It seems to be representative of WOTC's (or TSR's) many worlds and settings but I have no idea where it was used...on a game box perhaps? or maybe as a promotional pic? I'm curious at this stage.

it is a mix of all the games, like vampires, i think the soldier stands for twilight 2000, but could be wrong, anyway, it is based on PnP rpg's, cool find though

You have ...

Dragon Lance - Raistlin
Forgotten Realms - Elminster
Dark Sun - skipy dressed chick
Ravenloft - Count Strahd von Zarovich
al Qadim - the genie dude
Twilight 2000 - the soldier

Might have been an old promo for TSR .....

Right. I could have sworn I've seen that female char attached to Planescape somewhere but maybe it was Darksun back in the TSR days. A promo is what I was thinking too.

It's a promotional piece by Larry Elmore, made on TSR 20 (or 15th?) anniversary, it shows the TSR staff as various dnd characters. I saw it once on his webpage but I can't find it anymore...

Can someone please explain why Elminster has part of his leg showing? If not gay, at least that looks a whole lot feminin to me!

Perhaps he just thinks it's rather warm in there? After all, he's got a dragon breathing down his neck...

I'd swear that dragon is from the cover of "THe Wizard of Firetop Mountain".

Yeah but that's not a TSR book. I noticed Elminster looking a little fem too, perhaps it was modeled after a girl since someone mentioned these characters represented people who worked in TSR.
