Default How to deal with a protest (article within)

Sherrif Joe knows what he's doing!

Just add some thinking ahead, some common sense, and you have all the protesters scratching their heads wondering what's going on.

Here's the tl;dr: Sheriff Joe rerouted traffic around the protest from blocks away so nobody would see them. He video taped all his officers doing their jobs right from multiple angles. When idiots attached their arms together and laid on the hot pavement, he let them sit there in the baking sun.

Thoughts?

I think protesters need to get jobs and stop laying around.

Good on the Sheriff!

lol laying on the street in Phoenix in summmer, yea those are some bright ones. I lived in Yuma 2 years, you literally would have to be an imbecile to lay down on the pavement in AZ. Gotta love Sheriff Joe for letting them.

That dirty cheater! How *DARE* he take away their 15 minutes like that!

Note... full sarcasm intended, and a tip o' the hat.

Funny and shrewd, but kinda sad/dissapointing that he has to do that to curtail those who object to the law. I like that he had the cameras at all times though, to film his officers and vindicate them if anyone cried foul or made something up, but also to make sure his officers were indeed staying professional. Too many youtube videos of police brutality nowadays.

Note where they were doing it, the middle of the street. So yea I think curtailing was in order.

I have mixed feelings on this. There is little doubt that Sheriff Joe is as much the showman and attention whore as anyone is, though.

Perhaps, but he did it without blocking up traffic.

Yes he does. Misguided though imo. A shame because we could use him for some more serious issues than outsmarting honest protesters.
