im really angry. i get to the bit in shregeon castle where you have all five elements and all you need to do is put the mask on the face in the middle but when i go to look for my mask in my backpack, it just dissapeared! at first thought an imp would've stole it and it would still be lying on the floor, but it isn't anywhere to be seen! if you know how to get these items back without having to to the whole game again, i would apreciate it.

If it is still in the temple you can find it there. Quest items do not just disappear.
If you never manage to find it, and really want it, you can hack it into the game. There is a link on how to do that in the last page of the best tips.

Man, people are still playing this thing? I tried to go back to it several times but the controls drove me crazy! I can't even delete the characters I've made no matter what I try. you can't even just atart a new game!

Welcome to the board, AC/DC!!!
As mentioned - quest items do not disappear so you may be able to find the mask somewhere - if not, the mask is "hackable". If you decide to go that route and have difficulty or questions, feel free to ask. I've hacked many items in this game! Wyv |

It is possible to delete previously made characters - delete the file called roster.dat and the files in the save game folder - that should take care of your old games to allow you to start over. I believe you are able to configure some of the controls. That isn't an option I ever used so I'm fuzzy on the details but someone else around here may have more information for you about the controls. Wyv |

I definitely reconfigure all my controls to more of an industry standard. (WASD, Q&E for specials, &tc.) Select Configuration -- the middle of the three buttons in the bottom left corner of the game screen, looks like a computer. The select Controls from the top boxes & you're set.
As far as deleting individual characters, while in the Town Inn, add the char to your party, right click on her face, and the left options become Rename or Delete. Make sure you've got someone in the party to inherit her gold & give away her cool items before killing her. |

Yes if the mask is unfindable... Wyv has worked magic on many game files... I have experienced it first hand when I could not find my Shroud of Elsera anywhere....
And deleting character.... hum... isn't there a roster file that can be edited if all else fails?

Where is the mask most likely? In a backpack of some thief whom you have met anywhere on your way from getting the mask to finding out that the mask is gone
Thiefs in this game can stole everything in your inventory except equipped things. Even quest items, keys, and game critical items. Even the Mavin Sword Always check what was dropped when you fight thieving monsters! Searching for the mask now seems to be futile. If you are sure that you have killed everything that popped out from somewhere than you can go and check places where you were before noticing the missing mask. The mask will be on the ground. It will never evaporate. If you aren't sure then the mask can be gone forever.
