I may be merging this forum into the General Conversation forum if it remains slow as it is. I am kinda surprised too, that no one is talking about Iran!! Or Gas prices.. Ah well.

We'll make room for new forums coming up, as well as all new features here.
If CE does merge, expect the same rules to be in effect for political/touchy subjects.

Thanks!!

Well the gas prices today are awful you know
I guess a merge would make sense - I mean I have no idea what half of the stuff here is about, living in a different country to most people here.

Must be getting old

Meh, I think everyone's said all there is to be said about Iran at the moment. Wait for some preemptive strikes, then it'll be buzzing once more

But I'll liven things up with a little conspiracy theory - Jack Straw, the British foreign secretary and practically the only member of the Cabinet not to have slept around / been horrendously incompetent was eased out because the American's weren't happy with his Iranian stance...allegedly

Link 1 and Link 2.

Well, head of the House of Commons is still quite a senior position.

I've lurked here for many years, and I've noticed that alot of the former 'big hitters' of this forum no longer post. Discussion tended to follow the same old patterns anyway, where the two main rival political camps would simply draw up their trench lines and pummel each other with a verbal artillery barrage of thinly-disguised 'loony left' and 'redneck right' flames. I don't miss it at all.

I see Timber, Yorick and occasionally Cerek on another board. Not John D, though.
