Drow

Things had been weird for Conrad today, his SWAT unit had not been called out but he had noticed the large number of assault complaints coming over the police radios, but now the day was over and he could soon see his girlfriend and relax. He had left most of his SWAT gear at his workplace as per standard procedure but carried his 9mm pistol and a spare clip in the glovebox of his car.

Suddenly ahead he saw a car accident blocking the road, slamming the brakes he forced the car to a stop.

David's day had been the same as every other day, except for one bright moment of luck when he found a half-full bottle of whisky in a dumpster. He was currently enjoying this treat in an alley in town when he heard a noise and noticed what appeared to be another homeless stumbling towards him.

It was starting to look like it was going to be a quiet night, fares were few and far between when Gregg got a call for a pickup in a residential area. For his protection a 9mm pistol was wedged beside his seat (hidden but easy to grab), he pulled in at the address and waited for a while. After fifteen minutes with no sign of a fare he had to decide what to do.

David stepped up from his seat on the cold ground of the back alley and waved at the stranger walking towards him.

"Hey there! Found me a bottle o' whisky, and it'd be a darn pleasure to share wit'cha. What'dya say?"

David put a grin on his face and tried to make himself seem as non-threatening as he could. He didn't want to cause any trouble with the seemingly innocent fellow walking towards him.

OOC: Time of day? Is it a dead-end alley or open ended?

Conrad slammed on the brakes and reached into his glovebox, he then retrived his gun,holsterd it,then put his extra clip in his pocket.He walked toward the crashed vehicle slowly,gun pointed as he was trained to do.Hello? Is anyone hurt? hearing no response,he moved foreward.

OOC: It is currently in the evening, dark but you can still see reasonably well. It is an open ended alley between a public toilet and the town library.

IC: The stranger makes no reply but a moan and continues to come towards you.

Dice roll: Observation: 20 (Damn, first roll and its a natural 20... damn you [img]tongue.gif[/img] )

IC: You look closely at the figure coming towards you and see that there is something very wrong with him, his face is covered in blood and it looks as if half his throat is missing.

Drow

You move forward towards the crash and see it was between two cars.

Dice Roll: Observation: 1 + 3 (And the second roll is a 1, creepy)

You cannot see into the car due to the darkness.

David stared in shock and horror at the figure shambling towards him. He began wondering to himself if the whiskey was starting to get to him already, but he never remembered being this much of a lightweight. He stood up and smashed the end of the bottle to make a makeshift weapon and began backing himself away from the abomination, taking as careful steps as he could to avoid tripping. He looked around for a bit, trying to see if there was any other blunt objects or anything he could use to defend himself with.

OOC: What end am I backing towards? The library or the public toilet?

IC: You notice a piece of thick metal pipe which has fallen behind a trashcan, it is approximatly the length of your arm.

The stranger comes towards you faster, at this rate he will soon be upon you.

The homeless man went for the metal pipe, hoping to grab it up and deliver a crushing blow the head of his assailant.

You manage to grab the pipe and take a swing at his head.

Roll: 17 + 6 = max 20

The pipe crashes into the side of his skull and you hear a sickening crack as it sinks in, his body falls to the ground. The alley is now empty except for you although you hear more moaning coming from the direction of the toilet exit of the alley.

IC: David stared in disbelief at the creature he saw on the ground before him. Hearing the moans coming from the opposite direction, he made a speedy exit towards the library, heading to a more open area. He wished to himself that this was only some horrid nigthmare, not like the things that happen in the movies.

As you stand in front of the library the full force of what is happening finally sinks in, there are screams coming from seemingly all around you and a car goes flying past covered in blood. Smoke rolls over the horizon and it almost seems like hell on earth.
From where you stand not much else can be seen, the alley is behind you and so is the library, a primary school's playground stretches out in front of you.
