Errrrr...I dislike bullies. They are a reason that some kids are so depressed and have low self-esteem.It's not fair for kids that get picked on.Trust me I know.I was a victim of a bully and know i can stand up to him.I usually see him bullying other kids so I stand up for them.It happens at school to.Just to kids because of what they like, how they act,and what they look like. It's just not fair. But I feel sorry for some bullies bacause they come from families that are divorsed.Tell me your thoughts on bullies.

way to go! *high five*

i'd do that too, but bullies are usually bigger than me...i suppose a swift kick to the beanbag would take them down, but i just can't bring myself to do that to anyone, not even a bully

Both sides are pretty riduculous to me.

'Bullies' are stupid for picking on people. You never see a bullie picking on someone his on size.

And its ridculous to get depressed over it. So an idiot tried to kick your ass, big deal.

Bullies might have parents that are bullies and are typically insecure on the inside for some reason or another. They want others to feel the same way. They may be acting out in anger because of hurt that they dont know how to express. They feel better about themselves making other people feel bad. I feel sorry for them.

I have learned too walk softly and carry a big stick partially because of my expirience with bullies, who loved to torment me in elementry school because of my stut-ttt-er.

I can only hope those bullys grow up someday, become nicer people. Some of them undoubtably are in prison, addicted, or on another destructive path that arises because a person doesnt develop self-worth and character.

Now there is some psychological theory for ya

I was a bully. I picked on people my own size or bigger, and a lot of them were boys too. there wasn't anyone my age who was smaller than me but I did not pick on younger kids with the exception of my little brother and I bullied him the worst.
I got bullied at home by my mom and my older siblings so I spread the misery the best I could...by picking on people who would let me.
This kind of behaviour did not go away until I ran away from home (at 17) and didn't feel the need to make other people miserable anymore (with the exception of my ex-husband who I punched in the face for being a drunkard and a liar when I left him).
Since the age of 21 I've never fought with anyone beyond the situations where I was forced to defend myself and you better believe, except for those few jerks who were into self destruction, no one ever came back for more.

I can't explain all bullies' behaviour, we all have our own reasons but I'd bet that being unhappy with who they believe they are is the basic foundation on which their bullying is built.

My son had do deal with a bully in the second grade who was a year older than him and unavoidable since we lived across the street from each other. I'll give anyone who is picked on the same advice I gave him..."Stand up for yourself!"
The next day, sure enough, this kid comes up to my son to beat him up and my son punched him square in the nose, bloodying it and making the kid fall backwards onto the street. It shocked my son to see the boy run home crying like a baby because he had seemed so tough prior to someone fighting back. He avoided my son from that day on.

I've allways hated bullies. But you must be carfull in interfering. You could do more damage to someone's self esteem by stepping in,you could also end up stopping that person from saying enough is enough and finaly stand up for themselves because they expect you to save the day.Besides what happens the day you're not around?I'm not advocating not helping, just be careful.I've had stepping in blow up in my face twice in life one guy resented me so much because he felt it made him look even worse, and back in school a kid I stuck up for a few times got the snot kicked out him far worse than any namecalling and shoving would have been a day I skipped school.
