missing quest items in sacred

i'm on another fetch mission. was supposedly given a key to unlock a door that bars my way to the scroll i need. the key isn't in my list of quest items, nor on the ground near the quest giver. i can see the scroll in the next room but the door refuses to open.
this wouldn't be the first quest i've had to abandon. one guy wanted me to kill some undead then bring something back. when i did all he did was shrug. it was a timelimit quest though and that was several weeks ago in gametime and it hasn't said failed.
so anyway, is there a way to spawn missing items using the console?

Of all the various sites I've visited I've not seen any indication of the ability to spawn items into games via the console. It doesn't mean there isn't one, just no one's published it if they've found it.

gamefaqs mentions a teleport command. might be one of those teleport to cursor type jobs. that could do the trick.
not yet though. it needs a command line parameter. i'm doing what it says in the instructions but it still says cheats disabled in the game. it better not be a fixed path b/c i don't install any games to c:\program files.

IIRC one set of instructions said to create a shortcut for the exe on your desktop and at the end of the path add "/cheats=1" not sure but you'd probably have to mess with the spacing.

yeah, that's what i've been playing with. but surely it doesn't matter where the shortcut is. the one in the start menu must be enough. i'll mess some more then see what happens. annoying bit is that its a white dot quest. do that then i can get the blue ones.
