What the hell????
One of the best looking and closest to completion remakes was shutdown.
Check this out.
The trailer is mind blowing, especially if you are a Chrono Trigger fan.

I put this in General disscusion becasue its about a remake team and the stupidness of Square Enix. (sorry, im really pissed off right now)

yeah it does stink...the game looked very promising...instead of shutting them down, square should've done something else, like let them continue the project with some restrictions or something T_T

Large companies have a right protect their intellectual property I suppose, but many times they go too far, there's heaps of that sort of stuff going on right now in the news...this project was not for profit wasn't it? i guess it's still copyright infringement...
shameshameshame, it looked so freakin good

Such a shame that all that effort was wasted in the end, I was and still am a huge fan of Chrono Trigger, i played it tilll every one of my charaters got up to level ** !!!! Took me AGES...

It wasnt for any profit, it was mearly a bunch of fans trying to re-create the game, and that was the problem, I am part of many of the other re-makes, but most of them are being built using the Unreal 2004 editor and are classified as Mods, where as this game was a complete re-creation.

I still dont see the point in shutting this project down, all it was, was a bunch of fans trying to do something that Square started and cancelled, and it wasnt going to be seen in shops or anything.

OMFG...i'm sad..i was looking forward to it,. too,

man...this just makes it worse...those damn bastards, first they trick everyone with "Chrono Break" and then stop that and now force this re-creation to shut down...

*Scratches head*

Well, I'm going to go on the other side of this arguement, so don't smite me. There is a reason why games like Chrono Trigger shouldn't get remade with new, better graphics, and it's because the game is good and solid the way it is. Thats why they didn't remake it like Resurrection when they came out with Chronicles. I've only played a portion of it, but I can tell you the game is a classic and would remain that way just being in the SNES version of it. Making it with new graphics and the like just takes away from it.

I agree with you Gangrell, but that fact that the FANS wanted it and were making it means something too, I frequently sopke to the people at their forums and each and every one of them loved the original, including myself, and yet they still wanted to do this, so I dont see the probelem, especially if its the people who were originaly inteded to play this game wanting to re-create it.
