Lifting heavy weights and combat keep me going everyday!! I am takeing classes at the new york swordsman society , and untill I can beat my instructor I will continue to stick around on the planet. IMHO suicide is for weak minded people who cant hack living the real deal that life is.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, as someone once said to me. What keeps me going is resposibilities, duty, if you will. I have people depending on me. A wife and sons to support, house payments to make, college to save for. Plus, vacation in six weeks to look forward to. My religion forbids suicide, so I have never seriously contemplated it. Oh, most importantly, I am in love, and I want it to continue. Less importantly, how can you think of killing yourself when Neverwinter Nights is not out yet and I wanna play!

I'm a bit puzzled by what some people have posted, that their reason for living is someone else. That seems to me to be placing a huge burden on someone else on the one hand, yet at the same time abdicating responsibility for your own life and happiness. I mean I can understand it in a way, but IMO you have to be responsible for your own happiness and will to live.

I've heard of similar comments to this one as well If we were to extend this line of reasoning by a bit, inanimate objects such as computer games and riches would probably not be good enough reasons for us to live on. Just an observation

Well I wouldn't disagree, other than to say that a computer game or riches doesn't have to bear the huge emotional burden of knowing that they are the sole reason someone else can bear to wake up every morning.
I think you have to find strength for yourself, not rely on other people or posessions to do so. What happens if you break up, your PC fries, or your riches get stolen? At the end of the day, all these things are largely transient. You have to find strength within yourself.

What you've said makes sense, Epona.

In my case, I need to remind myself every once in a while to detach myself from anything (living or otherwise) that I feel for strongly, in case I get too attached towards it

Oh I forgot one! Knowing that one day I will look older than 13! (ARGHHH I'm 18 I tell you!!!!) That keeps me going too!

Epona sometimes finding strenth within yourself just isn't possible. Not everyone can do it. Some need that extra help.
