The Perseids

I had the blessing of getting to view the Leonids over a moonless and almost pitch black AZ sky a few years ago. It was an awesome sight, seeing meteor after meteor shoot across the sky in brilliant flashes of light that were big enough to make you feel like you may need to duck LOL. Don't miss these if you have the chance to be out at the hours they are best seen!

No kidding!

Meteor showers are one of the most amazing sights a human can see.
If you have the chance to quest at night and witness meteors streaking across
the starry night sky: Then you are blessed...

Check it out.

It has been rainy and cloudy for the past few nights. Can't see anything except a lightning bolt that shot side ways. That was cool.

Yeah there were a few thin clouds in the sky here last night...lit up by street lights and the spotlight they just installed on the water tower...not impossible to see stars but a little too bright for meteor watching in the city limits.
Lightning can be quite a show! I was once coming into Tucson from the north and there was a storm hitting the city, visible from the mountains I was driving out of. It was an awesome spectacle of light made memorable by a bolt of lightning that shot sideways across the sky and looped itself once.

Damn a meteor shower and I forgot my soap

I love meteor showers! There was one about 10 years ago that I went to a field in the middle of nowhere (BFE) with my lawn chair, binocs, and a thermos of apple cider (hmmmmm), probably one of the most peaceful nights I have ever experienced!

I've got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time

LOL!
You still have tonight and tomorrow night.
I am definitely going to find a good spot in BFE, Texas to watch the Leonids come November. Living out in the country like I do, it would have been nice had they come by last month but the "city" I live in just got new power lines to get up to date and they are putting lights up everywhere.
