Adventurer's Mart Secret Stash?

I could be mistaken on this, but I thought I read somewhere on this board a while ago that there is a secret stash in the Adventurer's Mart. Something about it appearing later on in the game after Chapter 4 or 5. Well I'm back on the mainland again and in the Adventurer's Mart and I don't see anything. Any ideas on this? Also, what do you consider to be the most effective magic protection-type spell under level 9?

I don't believe a new npc appears to sell the new items, but after you leave the Underdark, Ribald sells new items, I think.

Once you leave the underdark, Ribald will ask you if you want to see his "Special wares" for 50 gps

I think he offers you "special" items if you agree to pay 50GP to look at them. (Good Stuff in there, lev' 9 spells and great weapons.)

Thanks guys. I guess the word "stash" was in my memory which led me to think there was a crate around somewhere. I checked out Ribald's special wares, nice stuff. Boy he sure is raking it in charging 50 gps just to look at them! Oh well, I guess he's got to pay that guy to stand outside his store 24-7!
Hi Turbovee - I've got plenty of those restorations spells on me should you ever need one again! Noticed you got the smileys down!

If you do anything, buy that firetooth dagger. That thing is AWESOME!!! 2d4+3 damage from a dagger! throw it and it returns, speed factor 1. Without a doubt one of the best weapons in the game

why bother paying for it when you can steal it from a merchant in the underdark,
damn that adventurers mart, it doesnt have a steal option

Turbovee - I got the dagger and gave it to Imoen for when she runs out of arrows, thanks!
Satan - you can gulp down a master thievery potion and pickpocket Ribald. I think you get a ring if I remember correctly (did it a while ago).

Arrows? That dagger will do more damage than any arrow and its faster.
