Default LGT Files

There are 66 files with the extension "lgt" and I have no idea what they do. I removed them all from the W&W directory and the game still seemed to run fine. Could W&W players who are interested remove all their lgt files and see if they can spot any difference. Simply move them to some other folder, no need to delete them.

This does not totally surprise me, the 3 tom files seemed to make no difference either. If the game wants a file and it can't find the file, it just crashes.

Edit: It seems that no “bol” file means none of the features found in “D6Prop.dat”. (Thus no levers, buttons, chests, furniture&&. This is going to make exploration tough or impossible.) Also no npcs like Rethpian. From what I have seen so far, if you remove the bol file before you explore a dungeon there are no props and no npcs. However after you explore, all of these things have been recorded in the save file, hence you won’t realize what the bol file does if you remove it then. Thus the lgt file may do something but I will have to remove the file before I explore a dungeon.

I believe the LGT files are lighting files - defining how certain areas should be lit. There may be a default lighting which replaced the specific commands of the individual files.

I removed the lgt files and thought it was a bit darker in the Crypt, but I can't be sure on that one. I will have to try a new party with the files and then without the files.
