I am a fan of the Might and Magic series, Wizardry 8, and lately Morrowind Elder Scrolls. Is there any chance at all that there are any new 'traditional' type RPG's out there- or that might be in the works? It's getting pretty barren out there from what I can see. I've tried a variety of other genre's, but RPG's are my first love. I know that Morrowing Oblivion is on the horizon, but anything else???

You didn't list Baldurs Gate at all in there. If you haven't played the BG series, even though it is oldish, it's one of the best out there.

Yeah, bg very good, if you don't mind the graphics, but the game play is excellent, similarly Neverwinter Nights is good.

All the 'old' RPG are gone being replaced by the MMP's. However Bard's Tale is scheduled to be released in June of this year. Go to the bargin table in your friendly computer store and rummage around. You might find Planetscape Torment, some of the Bauldars Gate, or some of the old Forgotten Realms.

Oh, welcome to the forum, by the way.

I hope that single player rpgs aren't going to die out completely, as i can't afford the continual cost of MMORPGs, which is probably the very reason they will take-over, they can hi your bank account every month rather than just once!

Get Baldur's Gate seires if you like doing quests and Icewind Dale if you like a lot of fighting. Also Planscape: Torment is an absolute jewel among RPG's. Or so they say.

Looks like Guild Quest may be a little different in the way you pay for it. You buy the game and play for free, then they bring out a new module which you have to buy to continue. At least that's what their site says.

And the add-ons are optional, so you can stick with the orginal if you want
