First: forgive me for my bad english.

Anyone here tried to make a custom set of voices in IWD? I've followed the instructions on the txt file in the sounds directory and I can't hear the sounds that I recorded.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!!

I've never tried creating custom sounds, but I have done some recording with aPC microphone. Check the microphone and the record volume. Some microphones aren't amplified, meaning they pick up only very loud sounds. New microphones are amplified and pick up sound better. You can compensate for this by talking very loudly, turning up the record volume, or buying a different microphone.

I'd try some tests, by speaking loudly and see if your microphone is recording the sounds.

Just a stab in the dark.

No, if I play the wav files that I recorded I can hear them. The problem is when I renamed them and tried to use them. I even mixed some files that I've made and others from another pre made set. All the files have the same name (myname01, myname02...) and still didn't work...

If the name is to long you won't hear them. Try 4 letters and the number.
mysd01 etc.

I think it's a six letter limit like the portraits (I was going to try this but haven't bothered yet).
