I am enjoying BG II and wonder if I would now be disappointed if I try out BGI...what do you think? Are there big differences? AND I can't import my character from BGII into BGI...so that would be strange...

It's a great game! The NPCs aren't quite as involved, the walking pace is much slower, the pathfinding is not nearly as good, but there is a great plot/ story and MANY hours of game play. You don't get "Game of the Year" for nothing!

I started out on BG. BGll is great but the plot for BG was a bit better. It makes for some fun time although the pace seems slower. I don't think you would be disappointed but remember the game is a bit different (spells etc,). try it but if you buyit get it with the "tales of sword coast" addition

Well if you have played BG2
Bg hasn't got that good grafics You stay on very low level NPC's don't interact that much A lot of places are very boring BUT Somehow BG1 has a kinda magic that makes it as good or even better than BG2 I would say Try it ------------------ |

Buy it, try it. You also have the "Tales of the Sword Coast" (TOTSC) addition for it which will give you some more gameplay and then if so desired you can download "Dark Side of the Sword Coast" (DSOTSC) which is an unofficial add-on but very good none-the-less. Remember that you can run your character through these games, getting him/her pretty powerful** and then import the character into BG2.
** SLIGHT SPOILER > > > > > > > > > It is possible to find Statistic increasing Tomes in the games which when found and used will permanently increase your characters statistics above their starting level. This way it is possible to get a pretty powerful character that you can import into BG2 with stat's that are legally acquired and above that which you would usually expect to see....eg a human fighter with 19 Str'. ------------------ One love, peace. |
