Thanks for your lengthy post Earthdog. That indeed clarifies things somewhat. I was shocked to red that you're in Melbourne as what you were descrbing sounded very much like American Pente culture as opposed to the others I've experienced. At this stage I'd sadly have to agree with you.

All shouldn't be tarred with the same brush though mate. In some places being a Christian is quite difficult rather than an easy money source. I'd be so bold as to say in most places. If you're a believer, then rest assured that there is a very heavy judgement on those who misuse postions of leadership/teaching like that.

Jesus also said all who call him "Lord, Lord" wouldn't see heaven, and that there would be an innundation of false prophets etc. Look at Cults that use mind control too. I have been in too many very alive enriching Pente churches to readily dismiss the movement.
