No, my house is a 50's ranch-style home (from what I am told), and the only "stairs" are the pull-down ones that lead to the attic, which I don't think counts.

Yep. Two L-shaped staircases, one to the upstairs and one to the basement.
That doesn't count the three steps down into the garage, the three steps off the deck, or the two steps off the front porch. When we were house-hunting, we saw houses with two sets of stairs to the upper floor. I guess in case of fire...
