What is the best way to assign ur weapons to use if u duel wield

Is it better that the most damage or THACO weapon goes on ur primary hand?
or secondary?

Or better to have a balance say 3-4 star proficiency in primary and a 5 star in secondary?

I JUST SEEM TO HAVE A LOT OF POWERFUL WEAPONS NOT BEING USED at the moment!

What is the best COMBO??

ANOMEN - duel wielding
(WarHammer +++
FlaiL ++++)
primary - CROM FAER
secondary - FLAIL OF THE AGES

in pack STORMSTAR +5

SAREVOK switches between (In his Weapon slots)
(2-handed sword +++++
Halberd +
2-Handed Weapon STYLE ++)

SILVER SWORD
ANGURVADAL +5
RUNEHAMMER +5

(These r in pack not used yet)
IXLS SPIKE +6
RAVAGER +6
AXE OF UNYIELDING

BARBARIAN (main character)
(the best ones to DUEL WIELD against DEMOGORGONS and his minions would b which ones?)
At the moment I switch between these and what is the best to have in PRIMARY or SECONDARY hand?

LONG SWORD ++
2-HANDED SWORD ++
KATANA ++
HALBERD +
2 HANDED WEAPON STYLE ++
2 WEAPON STYLE ++
SINGLE WEAPON STYLE ++

She uses at the moment....
THE EQUALIZER
DAYSTAR
THE ANSWERER
DRAGONSLAYER
FOEBANE

And what is the most POWERFUL of them all overall + must definitely b used + whom to use it + duel wield or single use? And generally against or against a particular group of creatures only has a certain advantage?
(for eg instant decapitation? or undead banes? or dragon banes?)
What r some of the COMBOS that players on this FORUM use that r KILLER INVINCIBLE COMBOS? naturally u want the BEST CHARACTER STRENGTH wise + Proficiency wise to wield the most powerful so what is the best COMBO I can have with what I have?)

THANKS

I would say that it is best to put the weapon you are most consistant with in your main hand. Why? Because you can only get a MAX of one extra attack per round with the off hand weapon and so 50-80% of the time the main hand weapon will be hitting.

ApR-5 = Main Hand= 4 Off Hand=1 80%
ApR-4 = Main Hand= 3 Off Hand=1 75%
ApR-3 = Main Hand= 2 Off Hand=1 66.67%
ApR-2 = Main Hand= 1 Off Hand=1 50%

No its probably best to put the Crom Faer in the off hand. Why? Because it doesnt do that much damage vs FoA. What it does grant, however, is 25 strength which is applicable to the FoA when equipped in the off hand. So, Crom Faer in the off hand.

Same applies for weapons like Belm+2, although not special in the main hand they are effective in the off hand.

I used Ravager with Sarevok (I think, the one which level drains anyways). Its a great weapon.

Well, just give Sarevok Rvager and hope he does his deathbringer assault

and you can to everyone lol. I would actually equip you PC with Crom Faer and a one hander and give anomen something else. Overall, I think the Crom Faer/ FoA Combo is one of the best combos in the game, certainly my favourite. Give this to your PC maybe and give anomen something else or use him purely as a cleric.

As always im not as experienced as some of the other guys here so wait for more specialist info from them befoere doing anything

Happy Killing!

Just a simple question really: why on earth did you start four topics, instead of making one topic with four different questions?

Becos I thought it would of been a bit hard to fit in the subject line
+ so people know whether or not they have the expert knowledge to respond to it?

yeah this post was a bit long....thats y didn't want to make 1 real long POST.

but it also makes it easier for people to reply to it when they c it in the subject line.

Rangers are nice for dual wielding because of their natural 2 stars (then there's the ToB artifact Montolio's Cloak that's helpful in this regard as well). I think I had Valygar dual wielding Celestial Fury (main hand) and Crom Faer (off hand). He made a great slicing and dicing machine.

You've obviously noted that there are a vast excess of really good weapons by the end of ToB, so just try out different types as you go through with new characters. For example, I'm starting a Kensai that dual wields long swords and bastard swords just so that when I get to ToB I can use the Answerer/Foebane combo or perhaps Angurvadal. Obviously this character will find it difficult to get really powerful bastard swords until the late game, but that's part of the fun.

Come to think about it, it really doesn't matter at all which weapon is "most powerful" because every weapon will have its own unique characteristics. I remember in one game I took a Cavalier (sword and shield only, no missile weapons, no two-handed) all the way from BG1 through ToB. He used the Longsword of Flame (+1, +2 vs regen, +3 vs cold, +4 vs undead) throughout the entire BG1 and I was so pissed when I didn't get it back in Irenicus' dungeon. Then I found the same sword (I think maybe one of the Rakshasa's used it, but I can't quite recall) and used it throughout the entire remainder of the game. Didn't even strap on Angurvadal. That very plain Longsword of Flame never failed me, even against demons and such. I never figured out why but maybe someone else on the board konws more details.

I have to agree with Neomi here. I prefer axes, and therefore have my ranger dual wield frostweaver and stonefire throughout SoA (since I can get them both fairly early on in the game). Then during ToB I pick up the axe of the unyielding (which has a nice upgrade) and finish out. Sometimes, I'll put Crom Faeyr in my off-hand since it provides the 25 strength.
