And it's 13 down, and 3 to go. The Avalanche win game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals! Let's hope that this series goes the same as the Western Conference finals, and the Avs win in 5.

Watched game 1 of the final.
The av's were good but I thought the devils could have played better.
Sakic is unbelievable.
Blake, Bourque, and Foote. Man, with those guys on the blueline the av's are just awesome.
But NJ is pretty good too. Robinson is a great coach, and in my opinion the only player in sports who was a superstar while he played and a succesful coach when he wnt down that road. At least in North America.

Avalanche in 6

Go Canucks!

I agree that New Jersey is a very good team, and Larry Robinson is a very good coach. I seriously doubt that the remaining games will be as easy for the Avalanche. I don't really EXPECT them to win in 5, I just WANT them to win in 5. That way, I get to be there. If they win in 6, it will be in New Jersey - and I really don't want it to go to 7 games.

I agree that Robinson is a great coach, but the only superstar great coach? I must disagree There are several baseball coaches (managers) who were great players (Don Zimmer, Lou Pinnela just to name two) and Larry Bird was a great coach his short stint. I agree though that Colorado should win... I guess we will have to wait for another year before *cough* Vancouver wins.

Your probably right OgoPogo about the baseball coaches.

That was an uneducated sentence by me as I don't know that much about baseball.
But I forgot about Larry Bird. He's probably the biggest of them all!

Stupid comment by me. In all humility I retract that statement.

Bird was an awesome coach.

Right on with the Canucks though. They are building a great team and i hope they get everyone re-signed and pick up a solid free agent (Peca maybe, hee hee!)

Hey Grand-Ranger.
I agree about Brodeur.
He has to be much better than that.
Both these teams are offensive powerhouses. I think that the devils were the no.1 team in goals for in the regular season.
I think whoever has the better goaltender will win the series.
But man Brodeur and Roy! Both of these guys are Stanley Cup Champions and you might as well flip a coin to decide.

By the way I live in Victoria and the other day the Stanley Cup came to town!
Got to see it and man I gots to say: AWESOME!

The Holy Grail!
