Close. It's called a Sporran and serves as a money pouch usually (no room for wallets in that get-up). I don't have a kilt in either of my clan tartans (they're too expensive) so I don't wear one myself, but that's about it. I don't know the origin of the rabbit's feet but I think they're for luck

Better late than never - it's a sporran, and they are not usually rabbits feet, but simply decorative tassels. It's purpose is to carry small items etc, 'cos there aint no pockets in a kilt . Any secondary benefits (such as the high school coverup) are purely coincidental.
