Ok, Moni and Cloudy, I have two differing opinions on why the color pink.

Another says it is to match the distinctive Coral around the island:

I am going to go with the copy out and say that it is pink because it was originally white, and someone accidently washed it in with a red hosipital, and BOOM! Pink hosipital is born.

Why dont you like spam cloudbringer its the same stuff thats in a hot dog and bologna(pronounce bo-log-na to piss people off)If you ever go dont waste time in waikiki its by far the crappiest waves on the island. Notice its all the tourists out there sun tanning not the locals cause we know that beach sucks ass and we dont waste time sun tanning we actually do stuff at the beach. You might think your having deja vu every 10 seconds but dont worry 1 out of 8 stores in waikiki ARE in fact abc stores. Be prepared to get a ticket on your window every time you park your car in waikiki...no it does not matter if you just went in for 2 minutes to get a coke you WILL get a ticket....no I dont care if you looked to the right and looked back there WILL be a ticket on your window. Then theres that horrible strip of beach 5 minutes away from waikiki that you might accidently end up on. If you find yourself wandering off to far and see a beach full of drag queens you have succesfully got yourself on to queens beach. Lastly there is the terrible TRAFFIC I think the drivers in waikiki invented road rage.

I always preferred the North Shore and Haunauma (sp) Bay~never did the toilet bowl though. (I did ride a 25-30 ft wave on my hiney one day though! & only once)

Waikiki is a tourist trap and a death trap for blondes & Canadians.
A dangerous place indeed and if you HAVE to see it take a big guy (that you know and trust) with you! Don't go at night and DO expect a ticket! Better to take a bus (The Bus LOL)
Once I rode "The Bus" enough, I KNEW where Weird Al got the lyrics for "Another One Rides The Bus"
