Hi everyone! Boy does it feel like it's been awhile!
So next week I'm leaving for another church camp, and the theme this year is going to be superheroes. I came up with an idea that would be super lame because I'm just that kind of guy. Anti-Sad Man. Her runs around in his straw hat, big sunglasses, floral shirts and those Hawaiin flower necklaces, throwing candy and spreading joy to all the people of the camp. I've been throwing around ideas of what else I could do, so I'll list a few. Go buy some of those big Hulk Hands. Their toys that you can smash together and they make a Hulk noise. I was gonna paint happy faces on them and call them my Happy Hands. Our Youth pastor has a volleyball with a smiley face on it. People say I should carry it around as my Happy Ball or something, and when people touch it, they have to be happy. I thought it was dorky, but we'll see. Of course I plan on spouting out goofy superhero lines. With a megaphone. Now what I need from you guys is any other suggestions for this superhero, or a new superhero altogether that wouldn't be too hard to piece together in such short notice. (Three days) Thanks guys!

I'd go with Bicycle Repair Man, myself*. Especially if everyone else looks like superman. Still, I imagine your Merry Man in a hero's tights would be the perfect excuse to go completely mad to the point everyone suspects insanity and a lack of shame. I mean, "Rub my Happy Ball"?
You might try and employ specific sweets for different jobs, like faux prozac for those who stubbornly refuse to be joyous and little heartshaped words of god for the truely devout, but that'd make you candyman. On to other tips. Carry a simple board book to help illustrate your cheerful tales. Use a tape recorder or similar to brighten your surroundings with pleasant and uplifting tunes (and make people dance on them if at all possible). Finger painting makes for wonderful therapy, just on't make a mess of your surroundings. Lastly, don't underestimate the effect of water balloons. *Tartanman would take too much time to prepare in your case, plus you're a penguin freak [ 06-09-2006, 01:45 AM: Message edited by: Legolas ] |

I think I'd avoid references to Happy Hands at a church camp...That's just me, however...
Bard Man, use above mentioned tape player to play happy mellow music to lighten everybody's moods...

Just pick a boss from Mega Man. There's plenty to go around.

I'd go with HappyMan instead of Anti-Sad Man. Easier to say...
Pick up a bag of fortune cookies with positive sayings in them (you'll succeed, an opportunity will arise, etc.). Hand 'em out when needed. Grab some happy pills... just candies, but put them in a pill bottle with a faked label.
