I have the newest drivers for Nvidia GeForce III Ti200

The problem is this. When I updated the drivers, the natural color of desktop was darker than what I had it at. I fixed this easily by adjusting the brightness with the ability that the card gives me. What the problem is concerns playing a game. For example, when turning on NWN, the game is darker than it used to be, and is hard to see to play. When I log of of the game and am back to desktop, the desktop has lost the brightness that I had set, and the only way to get the color of desktop back is to reboot the machine or reset the controls. Still...I cannot get the controls brightened while a game is online.

What the heck do you make of it, Jim?

Fiddle with your monitor's brightness and contrast instead of the card's.

My list of dumb questions derived from things that have caused problems for me with my Nvidia card:

Are you using core drivers from Nvidia, or custom drivers from your card manufacturer? Some cards work better with the mfgr's custom drivers.

Does your profile for the settings on the card reset to the default when you switch apps?

Have you tried changing the digital vibrance setting to help brighten the picture?

NvCpl and NvMcTray are two apps which should be running at startup, apparently they act as an interface twixt the card and some programs(?). I'm not clear on exactly what they do. I shut them off once and had problems which went away when I restored them. I was also wearing red socks that day, which may have influenced the results.

Hope this gives you some avenues to explore that yield something useful.

Have you tried fiddling with the gamma correction in the games?

I had problems with the 66.93 drivers so Im not sure if thats the version your using.

I had graphic problems with NWN after updating and crashing to the desktop.
