I'm in the dungeon at the puzzle. Any clues as to which chains to pull to make the slabs of the bridge get to the right levels? I don't have the patience for these types of puzzles.

Also, what are the pros and cons of getting the Vampiric Touch after I return to the vampires? Finally, where might I find the scroll of brandishing to give to the female vampire? If I don't find one in the castle can I buy one in town and give it to her (not that that would be cheating)?

Check the BEST TIPS thread - there is a solution to the puzzle there!

I personally never found it that good to become a vampire though others have enjoyed it. If you decide to try it - install the patch if you haven't already. That will make your vamp experience much better.

You find the scroll needed way down in the bottom of Skull Castle behind a locked door - you will need the Lich's staff to open that door.

I'm not sure of the order I just Ran and Jumped Around to get it

The Vampire issue is a tough one it depends on the Charectors level the health they have there parry and hit. If all of those are high go for it because you can heal your self in battle and if you are at a Real high level Vampire bite can do up to 120 damage and is almost always Sussful but if you don't have high health don't Because the only thing in Cets Pyriamid you can heal your self with is the Hell Hounds

The thread you want to read through is called BEST TIPS!!
The answer you presently seek is in the first page of it near the bottom.

It looks like this;

SHURUGEON CASTLE VAULT PUZZLE -

.......VAULT.......
...................
###.............###
###1...........2###
###.............###
.L...............3.
...................
.7...............4.
###.............###
###6...........5###
###.............###
...................

Pull them in order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Don't touch "L" yet.
NOW work counter clockwise (7-1) any that have gone back up, pull down
NOW work clockwise (1-7) any that have gone back up, pull down
They should all now be down. PULL "L"

You mention above a similar puzzle in Shurugeon Castle - not the one in the dungeon of Skull Island Castle.

Any clues on this one?

Here's a link to the text walk-through. Go to #8 for the Skull Castle hanging bridges solution.

I think the best way of dealing with this irritating puzzle is skipping it completely:
1. Jump to the water pool.
2. Swim to the exit part of the puzzle (the chain bridge to the north).
3. Try to leave the water there and enter the bridge to the north (it is down now). Most probably, several attempts will be needed.
4. Go to the chain near the exit at the end of the bridge.
5. Climb the chain (look up and repeatedly jump) and try to leave the puzzle through the door at the north end. Again, several attempts will be needed.
6. Click all three levers in this north part. All parts of the bridges will go up .
According to my experience, this method is much faster and much less adrenaline rising than the standard one.
