specialist magi are very usefullas they get one extra memorized but you do have to have 2 magi to do that (or 5 like me) coz otherwise you will miss out on certain spell
Dualling to magi is very usefull especially from a class which doesn't get a lot of bonuses by leveling up like fighters and thiefs

It would be ridiculous to dual from a mage. You'd get the worst HPs etc and you wouldn't get access to the top mage spells.

Sorcerers sound good in theory, but they are a bit frustrating to play in practice. They're actually LESS flexible than normal mages. They'd be best used as a support artillery type wizard who can cast war-wizard type spells in combat. You can't really replace a mage with a sorcerer, you'd use the two in tandem.

That's what I thought. There's a bloke called Riham around here somewhere who says he's soloed the game with a sorcerer, though. He's sending me his character to take a look at... ought to be interesting.

Actually I won't cast any dispersions on what could be a commendable effort by someone. Let us know what this character's like.
