IIRC, the spell can fizzle. I remember trying to cast create portal near the town gate of ishad Na and the spell actually fizzle.

I know Teleport fizzles when you're standing on your Portal...
Another possibility is that your chance of successfully casting one is low (i.e. you're a Boogre or have low Int/Moon Skill). Radek may have to give some mathematician stuff for this one  In any case, if the spell fizzles then it's the same as if it were never cast, so the old Portal will remain where it was. |

Hmmm... so it WAS Wiz8 I was thinking of. It seems that Bungleau might have some other experience (unless he was thinking of Wiz8 as well [img]smile.gif[/img]

I will try it on my Win98 machine tonight. On my XP machine, I appeared to get only one portal total, but I was in a dungeon at the time (stout mines). It may be different on a map.
I'll repeat: I am positive that I have had more than one portal active for different casters at the same time. I've used them for travel (Favored areas, current dungeon, and so on). Now... to figure out how I did that, 'cause I know I'm not crazy.... am I?

Consarn it! Tonight, I could only get one portal. I'm going to have to pay more attention to this... I swear I had multiple portals set up.
Oh, well... if I cna figure it out, I'll pass the information along.
