Is there a way to skip the in game movies/sequences, like the LONG intro scene? I just bought BG2 and was dabbling around with the different character classes trying to figure out which one I wanted to play, but I had to sit through that 2 minute intro sequence every time.

AFAIK there is no way to skip the scenes which uses the game engine (like the one where Irenicus says, "The Child of Bhaal has awoken. It's time for more... experiments). The videos otoh can be skipped by pressing the Esc button.

Thanks for the info. I suppose the creators of BG2 don't want the player to accidentally skip through something important, so they made it so there is no way to bipass those cut scenes. Makes sense..

actually, there is a file you can d/l at www.baldurdash.com called "karzak's skip introduction scripts". very small file. significantly reduces the intro cutscene and the scene right when you leave the dungeon. very useful.

Yes...this file reduces the intro scene from 2 minutes or so to about 30 seconds, I believe.
