I've been wondering whether I should buy a PS2. In Australia they are quite expensive at AU$480 (US$260). The only thing which is stopping me from buying one is my TV

. It's pretty old and doesn't have good picture quality. There is an annoying transparent line down the left of the screen; which although you can just see, it is really freaking annoying and makes the picture quality even worse! I think I might be getting a new tv at the end of the year but it's quite along wait.

Any suggestions?

Not sure whether you're wanting suggestions on buying a PS2 or not or on the type of TV you're gonna get so I'll give you suggestions for both

As far as the PS2 goes, there's nuthin better. X-Box, nah; Gamecube, nah; personally I'd wait 'till after you get a new TV (the price'll go down even more, I'd put money on it

).

I'm a fan of Sony TVs aswell, especially the flatscreens.

it really depends on whether you A)want to play some of the PS2 games with not so good graphics and B) whether your willing to fork out the cash.

o_o... GTA3 came out for the X-box too ya know... and Halo was pretty good... and some of those other games too... err.... as far as TVs go, i recomend you get a JVC flatscreen, cheapest ones i've seen [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I don't know if their doing this in Australia, but the price of the US PS2 and Xbox just went down to $200.

PS2 prices just dropped to $199.99, 1/3 off the price. Prices were supposed to drop in europe as well, maybe they'll drop in your neighborhood.

I love my PS2, I chose it over Xbox because of its huge library of games, excelleent controls, decent graphics, (its got nada on my pc w/nvidia card though) and a reassurance all my old ps1 and ps2 games will work on the ps3 when thats out in a few years.

Get PS2....they rock.....try and pick up a 2nd hand decent TV...saves the wait...and GTA3 English version rocks!!!
