Problems with freezing
Ok, I'm sure there is a thread about this hidden somewhere in the archives, but I really am too hot and bothered to go trawling through 64 pages of threads to find one.
I have looked at a couple of threads, and they didn't help. What happens is my computer freezes when I fight people. At the moment it is mountain spiders. I have tried changing the resolution but it hasn't worked. Anybody think they can help me? I'm sick of only being able to spend ten seconds in the Gael Serran at a time. |

Re: Problems with freezing
Oh sigh - that would be a huge pain!!!!
I presume you've combed through the Tech Tips?? Have you closed down all other unnecessary programs running in the background?? Did this just start happening?? If so - what changed on your computer?? Obviously I'm not a great tech support. I hope Bungleau or someone else will show up and lend a hand soon!! Wyv |

Re: Problems with freezing
Yes, I did look through there. However, none of the solutions applied to my problem. I tried defragmenting the computer as well. Didn't help.
Nothing changed on my computer. I haven't been able to play W&W for a few months, but if I remember correctly, the reason I stopped playing it before was because it did this. It is a fairly old computer with Windows 98, so it should be fine... |

Re: Problems with freezing
W&W always ran well for me on my old 98 machine so it should for you too.
Are you running the graphics in software mode?? |

Re: Problems with freezing
I have absolutely no idea. As I am not a hugely computer literate person, how would I go about checking that?

Re: Problems with freezing
Software mode is one of the game options so you would check it in W&W
Really sorry that there isn't someone more techie around here right now that could be of more help. |

Re: Problems with freezing
I've had that as an intermittent problem runing under XP. At one point got so bad I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. That worked for a long time. Now it's starting up again, but the freeze happens anywhere, anytime. Old game, I guess, but worth keeping. Hope this helps.
PS: Hi Wyven! |

Re: Problems with freezing
Hi!!!
I think I'll send Bungleau a message and see if he can stop in here and offer some advice.
