I've seen multiple references on the forum to killing the spirit of rumphy several times in order to gain more exp. Is there a trick to get him to re-spawn, or certain settings that need to be used? Perhaps I've just never waited long enough. I'd appreciate any information that you could provide me with, including time between spawns.

Happy gaming.

If you go bacl to the statue of Kerah and say Scantus Holy, he will regenerate. I think its just a matter of waiting long enough

You don't have to say anything to the statue, actually...just go back to the room, then re-enter the main crypt. It's "passing the gate" (the one that was closed by the statue) that resets Rumphy.

If you have the patch loaded he won't regenerate. Also, when u do kill him, the experiance isn't as much, he can also turn ur characters to stone with 1 thump. He did to me anyway, poor piglet, just as he was about to take the road in his new barbarian role too. Harrumph

Not true about the patch...you may have to exit the crypt, though. There's been plenty of players with the patch installed who have gotten him to respawn.

You don't have to fight him hand-to-hand either. Have your wizards bombard him with Shock and Zap spells from a distance to take him out. He's one of the few monsters who doesn't come after you.

I've been to the crypt a few times and I still couldn't get him to respawn, even on my second playthrough.I thought it was because of the patch, maybe I should talk to the statue again, I ain't tried that yet

I have the patch loaded and he respawns if I get back to Kerah's statue and address her again. Never tried just going there without saying 'Sanctus Kerah', though. But it's still much better this way: in my first few games I'd go all the way back to the entrance, throw the lever twice and then go back. Saves a lot of time, just speaking to Kerah and running back.

Andora: could be that with the patch, you have to say "Sanctus Kerah" again...or it may be an anomaly with your game. I hope not!

Let us know for sure!

How do you get all those corridors to open anyway? I've seen the reference to him in the walkthru (map), but could never figure out how to get those doors open!

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Michael

The two northern alcoves have switches in them that open the doors to the south. You need a wiskah or a light spell to see them, though.
