IIRC, Roboghost is correct. However, if you play the game the way I would (to maximize expo before hitting TotLM) You get this weapon about 5 minutes before starting TotLM. That might explain the slip (certainly something I could see myself doing...)

EDIT: Is this a weapon a random drop?

Spoiler Alert:

I did ToTL almost immediately as I entered HOW. The Longsword of Action +4 was in the tomb of Sir Geddian in the crypt beneath the Chapel of Helm. There was also a Reinforced Large Shield +2. I don't know whether these were random.

RE: LSoA +4

That's right...
.
.
.
.
.
...you get two non-random of these +4 Swords of Action! BUT...

.
If you rat-out the Lonelywood's bar-mage...you won't get that first one.

Too bad the Ranger can't do a true dual-wield--throw in a Ring of Reckless Action plus Haste--and he'd be a Berserker on steroids!

So, let me see if I understand you, Roboghost --> You can get two (2) non-random long swords of action: One if you go to Lonelywood at the right time and do the right thing once you get there; and one early on in TotLM? I had forgotten the location of the former and (if non-random) had totally forgotten the existence of the latter.

Two Handed Sword +4: Hammer, the Repeating Heavy Crossbow +5 and the Reinforced Heavy Crossbow +7, but they seem to have removed these weapons at some point with a patch

Spoiler:

I just re-played that part of the game (HOW into ToTL), and yes, there are two non-random longswords of action +4. I got the first one after protecting Kieren, the mage in Lonelywood (HOW). The second one was in the tomb of Sir Geddian, one of the Watchknights (ToTL). Hypothetically, if my ranger were able to really dual wield them (which he can't), would the extra attack, armor bonus, and resistances be cumulative? I know he can't, but what if...
