Number 7 is a toughy, but IMAGINATION kinda fits the bill - suspect it's something else though.

And finally we have :

A
AT
ANT
NEAT
AREN'T
TANNER
LANTERN
INTERNAL
TRIENNIAL

That took a bit of guesswork, but I stareted with the most common letters and built upwards.

WOOHOO

It is possible to construct a sentence in the english language in which the word 'and' is used consecutively five times. What is it?

WOOHOO - 3 from 3 (Daniel had already got the others before I saw your new ones). Even though I don't have the same 9 words as you wanted, I completed the contract - and I was right with imagination too ( although your right that it isn't a real great fit for the riddle, but hey, I'm pleased .

Just been working on an original riddle right now :

I have two parts I should explain
One to remove, one to retain
Born of what is considered gross
My daily food is "no great loss"

For safety's sake I came to be
My halves remain more popular than me
Rarely appreciated, oft begrimed
Not alliterated, but nicely rhymed.

What am I?

Here's sumore -

1a) A wee wee man in a red coat.
Staff in my hand, stone in my throat.
What am I?

2a) I am strongest when you see me as round, but I am often viewed in
other forms. I lift & drop the sea with my tremendous strength,
and a man with a name like 'powerful bicep' was the first to
tread on me.
What am I?

3a) I am a rock group that has 4 members, all of whom are dead, one
of which was assasinated. What am I?

4a) The answer I give is yes, but what I mean is no.
What was the question?

5a) "There was a green house.
Inside the green house there was a white house
Inside the white house there was a red house.
Inside the red house there were lots of babies."
What is the name for this house?

6a) What work is it that the faster you work, the longer it is before
you're done, and the slower you work, the sooner you're finished?

7a) Whoever makes it, tells it not. Whoever takes it, knows it not.
And whoever knows it wants it not.

8a) I am always hungry,
I must always be fed,
The finger I lick
Will soon turn red.

9a) Glittering points
That downward thrust,
Sparkling spears
That never rust.

10a)Three lives have I.
Gentle enough to soothe the skin,
Light enough to caress the sky,
Hard enough to crack rocks.
