I'm just starting this game so I have so many questions, like exactly how many party members can I have in NW as single player?... I know I can hire some henchmen, but why can't I have more than 1?, will I have option to add some more NPCs apparto from my henchman to my party?

No just the one henchman (I know!). There is a hakpak you can download to allow yourself multiple henchmen you could try that?

Try Nwvault.com and search for 'multi-henchman hakpak'. Follow the intructions in the readme and you're set.
