From what I know, a Google is 1 followed by 100 zeroes. And a Googleplex is 1 followed by a Google zeroes.

I have a solution to all of this - STOP TALKING ABOUT MATHS! Its maddening, knowing that people actually CARE about numbers they could never possibly use in their lifetimes.

Oh yes, and Blind_Prophet, the book claims that the mathematician Edward Kasner asked his nine-year-old nephew to invent a name for a very large number, and that's where the word "googol" comes from.
