Does anybody know why sometimes you gain no experience when you
kill monsters using traps? I gained 20k killing the Admalante Golum & another 64k killing the Dragon but could never gain any on the wolf (Using traps). |

You should gain XP. It maybe that the wolf has such poor HP that the first trap took him out, you may find the XP for it right at the very top but it's such a paltry amount it's not worth fussing over.
PS. How many traps did you lay to take out a pair of Golems with them? ------------------ It's bleedin dark down here, slippery too. Man, that's a pisser. |

This was the greater Wolfwear and I tried 6 ways to sunday to get some exp points out of the kill. I had the same trouble with the golem but it finally registered with 25k. I'm wondering if your only attack is from a trap(s)
if you even get exp? Thanks for the reply! |

My two main characters are still lvl 8 & 9 so I have to resort to all
machenations to survive. It would have made frigragg (The Dragon) a much easier kill had I had some of those higher mage spells. The summon monsters & trap strategy finally paid the highest of dividends. Nice sword for a reward too! |

The only thing i can come up with is that a party character must personally inflict damage, maybe even the death blow itself for the party to gain XP. ie, if you summon a creature and it kills something unaided then the party doesnt get the XP for it, i think its the same for traps. Really you should be using traps to weaken a monster as opposed to obliterating it on the spot. This is kind of fair enough really. Traps will trigger the second an enemy turns red, this way it prevents you laying multiple traps and reaping the XP rewards for sitting back and watching the carnage with no physical input yourself.

The admalante Golem cant fit between the rocks so I laid 4 or 5 traps
at the rocks (making sure not to attract the smaller 2 golems) and then laid in ambush with archers. At level 8 I don't think I had enough power to kill him any other way. I think your right that the death-blow needs to come from your party; I just couldn't get my guys to make it against the wolf. |
