Hello W8 players,

Scatter inspired me to open this topic :

How often did you reach AP and finish W8 ? I reached AP the third time in about 13 months and I hope I can win the last final battle too. I had dozens of unfinished games in this time.
Scatter mentioned that he had killed the Souleater about 37 times . Can anyone of you top this number of victories ??

Greetings

Of course, i have to be honest...i may have killed Souleater 37 times, but i can't count 11 of them as real victories. Some of those 11 were imported parties that got their items and skills with an editor in W-7 (testing import), and the rest were recycled from chars who had gotten some high-end stuff in this game. (starting as L1 rerolls in the Monastery but having Muramasa, Light, E. Helms, etc. from a party that'd been to Ferro already--testing development ideas)
So really, 26 wins of Wiz-8.
So far...

I only finished the game with one (1) party. I lose interest in the new parties I start as soon as they get to the 'it doesn't matter what I encounter, I will survive it' stage. It is my main gripe with the game. At some point the challenge is gone.

Sorry... Only beat the game twice. Just like Deejax, I grow tired of some parties or save them till later. My problem ins't becoming TOO STRONG, it's endless battles that usually stop my games.

I also can claim only 2 victories. I've played the game many times with different parties I ended up not being happy with, but I've only ascended twice. I'm currently working on my third. The current party I'm playing with, I have been really happy with and am really having fun with them so I am going to ascend them

Nine ascensions. Two parties of six, a five, a four, two threes, a two and two solos.

I haven't found any other games worth replaying that much.

Eleven to the end. Maybe twice that number of starts. I agree with Deejax to some degree: after I make it to Ferro (or shortly soon after) the level of danger is much reduced after you have made it to the end a few times. There are still some big battles, tho, so I hang on if I get that far.

9 parties to the peak, although i've actually only ascended 3 - i like the others to much to "finish" them.

but for each party to the peak, i've probably started 4 others. i usually stop when i find it's just not working as a team - could be as early as arnika, or as late as just before going to the peak.

for me, when the game gets easy near the end, that's my reward for all the hard slog we've gone through to get there!

I've only had one finish but Ihave several parties lying all the way to the peak, because simply when I get a new idea I am going to try t and then the od party just rests for a while. The trouble is that on the boards here I get too many new ideas.

I had 12 victories. All on expert, 9 of them ironman. In addition, i have 11 parties waiting somewhere at least midway through the game, and my level 42 fighter/bishop duo roaming AP.
