What exactly do you define as D&D style.
If we are talking crap airbrush fantasy art a'la Luis Vallejo, then hell no. If we are talking stuff like Brom or Diterlizzi then it is a whole other matter. If we are talking the illustration from the 3rd edition books, I think they are neat, but lacks character. Much like present day super hero comics. Also not all anime and manga is in that über-cute style. You can find some really gritty stuff too.

Both styles are pretty cool if used correctly. But I tend to like anime more - its a bit more expressive IMO.
