Yep... don't downplay the importance of basic artillery. Sure, anyone can blow 'em away with an atomic bomb, but knowing how to do it with a few firecrackers... now that's impressive

*edit* Forgot to add... way to go, Lord! I'm impressed

Give 'em a hug one more time. It might be the last.

Good question! I know last night, surrounded by bats on all four sides, I would have loved to have had a ring of fire spell available...

Well, the "easiest" high number i can think of - straight away -
is 8 bats, when you go into the waterway deep in the crypt.

It might be from centaurs; there were definately a lot near the entrance to Brimloch Broon. Or how about near Oakenmir? Once you attalk him, a bunch of his protector trees come out...they're strong, they've got good HPs, and they follow you too...

Well I was once chased by 6 wogurs, a pack of trollies, and 5 nymphs. Since I ony had three low-level characters it was a excruciating hit and run fight. It's a bit disappointing that monsters don't fight each other but at least they blocked each other's paths.

Btw, this constitutes as one of the more major faults in the game. Some monsters clearly wouldn't follow you around.

I remember when I first started playing this game...I couldn't get the eastern gate to open so I went out the western one...two packs of trolls, and a bunch of bandits chased me to the city gate...When I left the gate again, they were there waiting...And I was only at lvl 1 mind you! Once I exited they would start attacking I would start losing hit points and dying...

I just was about to give up on the game until I finally found this forum and the VirtualDub fix...Thanx to all of you!
