I can't believe some of the things you guys have gone through. I have never had to tell anyone that someone is dead and i certainly hope that i never had too. You guys are really strong.
The worst thing i've had to tell someone was when i found out my ex-boyfriend was lying to his new girlfriend about his age. I had to tell her and try to make her believe me without thinking of me as some jealous ex-girlfriend trying to win back his love. I still feel terrible about being the one that had to eventually tell her even though so many people knew the truth.

Kormie, that's incredibly heart wrenching and I have much respect for you for the way you've dealt with the pain it produced. You're a very brave soul, my friend! We must do that coffee sometime!
This is a rough thread- lots of sadness and unpleasant situations. I think it's a testament to the strength of the human spirit to see how everyone comes through the rough spots. I have had to tell friends bad news (about deaths, jobs etc) but I have to admit, I'm with Pauly on this one, I'd never be able to tell a mother her child had just died the way you had to, Attalus. God Bless you and your work. [ 09-16-2002, 10:29 AM: Message edited by: Cloudbringer ]

Wow Yanez, you put things in perspective.
It feels kind of silly after reading that, but for me, telling my ex-fiance that I was breaking up with her. Easily the worst night of my life. I don't feel like going into the whole story behind it, but suffice it to say my life hasn't been the same since. Over a year later and I'm still putting the pieces back together. If you love someone, cherish them every second. And if you're thinking about getting married, make damn sure you're both emotionally and financially ready. Love alone ain't enough, as I found out the hard way. Sad but true.

Damn, that really sucks Kormar. Sounds lame, but I don't know what else to say.
Worst for me was telling my best friend, when we were seven, why his mom was crying and his dad wasn't home. He was my hockey coach, and fell dead from an aneurysm on the ice. His wife was too distraught to tell my friend. Its still big to me eight years later.

Lharae, Yes! People who are in love DO need to be emotionally and financially ready for marriage. Marriage is an enormous and (in my book, anyway) permanent step and shouldn't be taken lightly or too quickly. Cloudy, contemplative this morning
