The school of Abjuration is like the KING of protection spells... because you know... like 90% of all protective spells are Abjuration based.
PfNormal Weapons PfMagical Weapons Spell Immunity Globe of Invulnerability etc... ... Other sources of protection will come from the school of Illusion. Strictly speaking. Stoneskin is a convenience, not a necessity. |

As the Jester gains levels, the duration of the confusion seems to increase (almost seems like 1 second per level - not confirmed at this point though), and if you are invisible, the +4 save bonus isn't too much of a problem since the enemy is bound to fail a save sooner or later. Greater Mailson cast at a group of enemies prior to invisibility would be a good way to nullify the save bonus. This invisibility tactic doesn't really make sense though, since the idea of a Jester is that he is prancing around like a madman, singing and dancing to try and distract his enemies, so if they can't see him then logic dictates that they wouldn't become confused. This is perhaps the most fun class I have played so far. [ 02-15-2004, 04:57 PM: Message edited by: Jim ] |

out of those available at character creation it would be the Transmuter (alteration specialist) imho... the opposing school is abjuration, so no dispel/remove magic, breach, lower resistance, spellstrike etc (the only one left would be ruby ray, meh)... , no protection from cold/fire/acid/lightning/magic damage, not a single spell protection like turning/deflection/globe or spell immunity... furthermore, say goodbye to pfmw, mantles and absolute immunity... and of course imprisonment is not an option
now these are the bravest mages I've ever seen ^^ [ 02-16-2004, 12:06 AM: Message edited by: Intangir ]
