LOLOL!!! Actually, Attalus, the "turtle" is a boy. When they are on their back with their legs sticking up, the scrotal area resembles a turtle shell with the turtle's "head" sticking out (remember, my wife and I have had 3 "turtles"). A snake would be a flat, straight line.

Of course, different techs might use different terms, but I've always heard "turtle" refer to a boy. Never heard the term "snake" before. But since they are describing how the it appears on the ultrasound, "snake" would be an appropriate description for a girl.
