Take a look at the press release from Infogrames. There they say that in will be released summer 2002: "Neverwinter Nights is in development at BioWare Corp, creators of the ground breaking Baldur’s Gate role-playing games. Neverwinter Nights will be available worldwide in Summer 2002 and can be pre-ordered today at all videogame retail outlets."

I've heard that June 20th is the date for the release in the U.S. I hope this is true, but you never know.

From the Bioware boards:

"Infogrames has revealed that Neverwinter Nights, its Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game in development at BioWare, will ship to stores on June 18 under the Atari brand name, which will also cover the upcoming release of Unreal Tournament 2003"

A little informal quote from the bioware boys at the E3:
"Trent said and I paraphrase, 'If its not shipped by June, I am getting the whips out and flaying the developers"
