Yeah, I'm running Norton too. Should I shift to a different firewall before I attempt to run a game? Do you play online? Maybe you're interested in doing a game with Lord B and myself. What did you do about your firewall to game? I could really use some advice. The manual is vague at best.

Thought others might want to hear an update of our gaming experience.
We finally got everything straightened out and started our adventure. I paused the game. I didn't know why. I thought I was typing a message and putting in a character space. The others waited patiently. Aha. Figured it out and we continued. The movement in on-line gaming was pretty good. The characters follow each other nicely (just click on the character you want to follow and your PC follows dutifully). Minor Spoiler . . . (okay if you've even played the game for 20 minutes you've gotten farther than we did) . . . . . I had a first level Bard, Hudson Hawk had a first level fighter, and our third player had a 7/7 Fighter-Thief. We took off toward the goblins along the south shore of the lake. I usually pause before a battle, but knowing what we were up against, I just followed our trusty leader and jumped right in. The battles didn't work as smoothly in terms of game play. I could see the characters die (yes, we got spanked by a bunch of goblins) before the goblins stopped fighting. It was like the goblins were taking on some invisible foe. Eventually, my screen caught up with the rest and my character was assaulted by the swarming battle-hardened horde of goblin champions (making them sound impressive so that our party doesn't look like a bunch of whimps). It was pretty funny when we finally realized we were dead -- killed by goblins. We started a new game, loading stronger characters, and proceeded again. This is when mother nature struck. Whoever thinks that computer gaming isn't affected by the real world is wrong. A large thunderstorm had been brewing over the past hour and the lighning intensified. My ISP went down. I was out of the game again. This story may be incomplete, since I don't know if Hudson Hawk and our other player continued on without me. Hopefully they were able to seek some revenge . . . P.S. I read my e-mail this morning and I guess I missed the fact that Hawk was going to play us in Heart of Fury mode LOL. ------------------ Most Subtle Official Straightman of the Laughing Hyenas -- Grammarian Brigade. |
