The wife of a friend of mine is a professor at UNLV and got us tickets to see President Clinton speak tonight. They had to move the venue twice to larger places because of the interest.

Say what you want about his politics, but I think that he is a truly great man. He has been around long enough and has enough experience to be considered to be one of America's premier elder statesmen, and is truly an example of the best America has to offer.

His message tonight was primarily one of the need to protect the environment, the importance of American involvement in Israel to help end the bloodshed and form a lasting peace, the importance of the globalization of the economy, and of the need for us to all celebrate our differences, but in the end realize that we all share a common humanity.

He is truly a brilliant man, and I feel extremely honored and priveleged to have been in his presence tonight and to have been able to see him and hear his message.

Nope, there was about 6000 people there, and access to him was tightly controlled. I did get a seat close to the stage, though. It was awesome, and the only time I've been that close to such a prominent and famous figure.
