I've used ICQ 2001b for about two months now...so it's not that new to me
But I haven't experienced any trouble with it..so far. Anyway...MSN sucks! Just wanted to share that

I used the new ICQ version and was talking to someone with an older version and there was no problems at all. I run Win 98 SE.

Hmm I have also spoken to ppl with the old version and had no problems. Overall the new version is a success! Besides everyone should just get the new version and then there would be no problems. 4MB is no problem even on a 56K modem and the installation is stress-free as it just upgrades your old version so all your contacts and settings are saved.
edit: hey vic, you registered right after me, eh? Us 124X's gotta stick together, LOL. [ 11-04-2001: Message edited by: Vaskez ]

Damn, I'm running it on Win98 se but the thing was giving me hell *L* I guess it's paying me back for all the months I went by without it. Ah well, either way I have gone back to 2000b so I will just stick with it for now.

Bah, I upgraded to 2001b and I couldn't even connect anymore to the icq server... I tried it for half an hour, then I gave up and downgraded it back to 2000b again. Guess I will stick to that one for now.

Do yourselves a favor and do not upgrade to this version. ESPECIALLY if you still have 1999a or 1999b. Those versions are better because that was pre-AOL purchase of ICQ.

Gorj, it must be that OLD operating system you're using! Upgrade!!
I repeat, the new ICQ is great....much faster, more features and no problems so far! Not even a single crash whereas 2000b crashed regularly.

quote: Could it be that 2001b is a little more sensitive for fire walls? That could explain why I wasn't able to connect at all... Especially the fact that after 20 minutes of trying to connect to the main server I still didn't get any error messages was painful... ICQ 2000b normally warned me after half a minute of attempting to get in. :/ [ 11-06-2001: Message edited by: Grojlach ]
