I just saw this movie for the first time.It was really outstanding. George Clooney and Brad Pitt is a great combo. And all the excitement! When the robbery first takes place, I couldnt leave the chair for a second!
It must have been one of the best thrillers I've ever seen.

For some reason, every time someone sees this movie, people start a new thread about it... Oh well. See my opinions on this movie by following the first URL, a post dated on the 22nd of January of this year.

I'll just drag my opinions from back then into this new topic, maybe that way we'll get more than 1 reply.

Quote:
Saw this movie recently, and it wasn't bad. Even though the theme - an impossible robbery - is far from original, the plot was; without spoiling anything I admit I was on the wrong foot as well by the time they revealed what the real escape plan was... It was definitely entertaining and 2 hours well spent.
On the other hand, with all those big names (Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, George Clooney), you... well, you just expect a little more. The movie was good, but not brilliant, and all those big names don't have any surplus value to the movie if you ask me; with those actors, they could have made more out of it. Because even though it's just a two hour entertaining spectacle, all of the personages in the movie were so called "flat characters", mainly cliche characters. Not sure if one should expect that if you look at the movie's storyline, but looking at the actors they managed to get together for this one, you could have expected a little bit more.
An amusing and entertaining movie, but still a bit of a disappointment on the whole because there's the feeling of dissatisfaction that dominates in the end.

What I usually find when they get a cast of all Great actors they tend to blow the story by there own "characters" ... glad to say that this movie was different ... I loved it aswell!@

It was entertaining, but I agree that all the big name actors overshadowed their parts. The original didn't have that problem (you did know this is a remake of a 1960 Frank Sinatra film, right?) but I didn't like the ending in the original.

I liked it too, then I went and saw the original with the "rat" pack. If you get a chance go and rent it.....

I know about the original version, but did that one end then?
