Well, Vaskez, for me it is a combination of both: the appeal of the title and my relationship to the poster. There are a few people whom I care about so deeply that I would at least check any thread by them regardless of the title. But no, that is NOT the same as what you said ! Those people are only a select few, so there are an average of maybe only 1 or 2 threads a day by them, conclusio: To the vast majority of threads I go to for other reasons. I am not sure at all what those other reasons, but of course curiosity has a lot to do with it.

Oh, that's a good question, Vaskez !

For me, it depends. There is, of course, who created the thread ! For once, I always, always read a thread started by Yorick !
And, sure, if a thread is started by a friend and doesn't seem to get many answer, I play support, if I can.

Then, there is the mood : Do I want to dive into a serious debate, or just have fun ? Or am I feeling depressed and need a bit of cheering up ?

Or is there a folk I don't know well asking a very interesting question ?

I also tries to answer pleas for help, if I can.

Seriously, it depends on the title, or if it was a previously preused one with more posts than last time

I considered sacrificing a virgin to the Dark Gods in return for guidance, but then I remembered this famous gravestone inscription

Here lie the bones of Elizabeth Charlotte
Born a virgin, died a harlot
She was aye a virgin at seventeen
A remarkable thing in Aberdeen.

So now I just click at random

Title of this one got me, but not right away, 'cos I always check out threads I have already posted on first.
I also check threads by people I consider friends, or that I like a lot, unless the title puts me off - like something silly when I feel serious, or vice versa.
Then I look for interesting titles. There are some very interesting people in here, of all ages, and I am getting to like more of you every day.
And yes, I check out Mod threads, but only if they mark it as important with the arrow, and/or Attention! Otherwise, only if it looks interesting.
There are LOTS of threads I never look at.

I click on the ones that I might find a chance to respond to. If I feel the thread has nothing to do with anything I know about, I don't bother. Usually, I do not look at who statred the thread. It mostly matter on the content I anticipate finding.
