Default Wikileaks: Source of massive honeybee die-off known for ages, EPA doesn't care

Remember all those news stories about honeybees mysteriously dying off? Guess they figured it out now. Another day, another leaked document... This time involving an evil German pesticide producer and the EPA turning a blind eye for no morally acceptable reason.

Why is it a "evil German company", and not an inherently lackadaisical federal government agency, of which none can/should be trusted?

Is it not the mission of the EPA to protect? Is it not the end state of a company to make money?
Are both not staffed by humans? Are humans not easily persuaded? Does money have influenece?...

Wonder how much BAYER have donated to the political parties or to leaders of the EPA. Time for a police investigation I think

Ugh this is not the case at all.

It's possible that the pesticides in question aggravated bee declines, but in no way is it suspected to be the predominant culprit. Colony collapse has been ongoing since before the use of these pesticide applications, and is occuring in regions where the pesticide isn't used at all.

Then there's this recent stuff with the birds and fish dying in masses. There is a new report out today about over 100 birds mysteriously dying in California. On New Years, it was blamed on fireworks but now they can't say the same about this. Then there were those 100's of fish that turned up dead around the same time. Surely this is connected.

Here's the latest incident.

Quote:
GEYSERVILLE, Calif. – California wildlife officials are trying to figure out what caused the death of more than 100 birds found clustered together just off Highway 101.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that California Highway Patrol officers found the dead birds near the roadway on Saturday and called in the state Department of Fish and Game to investigate.

The officers who found the birds described them as small with brown and black feathers. They were intact and had not been shot.

The reports come as other, larger bird deaths have been reported in Arkansas, Louisiana and other states.

Scientists say mass die-offs of wildlife happen regularly, and are usually unrelated and unreported.
